Spruce Grove Veterinary Clinic has been providing care for animals in the Edmonton area since 1975. Beginning as a mixed animal practice with one small animal veterinarian and one large animal veterinarian, Spruce Grove Veterinary Clinic has evolved into a 100% small animal practice with 9 doctors supported by registered veterinary technicians, receptionists and office and kennel staff.

We offer general small animal medical and dental care as well as many surgical and orthopedic procedures.

Adrien was among the first graduating class of the University of Calgary Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She first worked emergency before moving to Spruce Grove in 2013.

She and her husband bought the clinic in 2020 and is honored to be working with such a great team.

She lives with her husband, two step sons, two dogs and two cats.

Dr. Adrien Elliot


Dr. Christie Gingras graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatoon in 2000. She has been practicing at the Spruce Grove Veterinary Clinic nearly 21 years.

She has a special interest in ophthalmology, internal medicine, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. She has served on the board of the Animal Cancer Therapy Subsidization Society (ACTSS) and is presently on the board of the Edmonton Association of Small Animal Veterinarians (EASAV).

She shares 2 teenagers with her husband, as well as a golden doodle named Ruby, orange tabby named Melvin and a guinea pig named Strawberry.

In her leisure time she enjoys camping, hiking, skiing, travelling and watching soccer games.

Dr. Gingras


Dr. Renate Pfeifer grew up on a farm not far from Spruce Grove where she developed her appreciation of nature. She was drawn to veterinary medicine because of her love of animals. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Prior to that she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta. Upon graduating, Dr. Pfeifer worked at a small animal practice in Saskatchewan for three years before returning to Alberta to be closer to family. She has enjoyed working for the Spruce Grove Veterinary Clinic since 2007.

Outside of work, she likes reading, knitting, and spending time with her husband, two children, a dog, four cats, a gecko, and many fish.

Dr. Renate Pfeifer


Dr. Cheryl Lewis graduated from WCVM in 1997, and joined Spruce Grove Vet in 2004. Currently she is the vice-president of the Edmonton Association of Small Animal Veterinarians. She is also a member of AAFP (American Association of Feline Practitioners) and has completed their cat friendly certificate program. Cheryl is an avid gardener, and the proud pet parent of 3 cats, 19 fish and a hamster. In her spare time, she loves reading, snorkeling, travelling, photography and is a supporter of wetland conservation.

Dr. Cheryl Lewis


Originally from Spruce Grove, Dr. Ashley Smolley completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Alberta before pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary. With a belief in holistic care, her special interests include preventative and alternative medicine, rehabilitation, internal medicine and palliative care. She is currently completing a certification in veterinary acupuncture through Chi University and a certification in companion animal rehabilitation through North Carolina State University. Ashley looks forward to continuing to expand the tools available to her clients in the coming years. During leisure time, Ashley enjoys spending time with family and friends, including her three fur babies. She also enjoys the arts, yoga, running, and travel.

Dr. Ashley Smolley


Dr. Kendra Pacholok graduated from St. George’s University in 2024, completing her practicum at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to her veterinary studies, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Calgary. As a new graduate, she is excited to start her veterinary career here, at the Spruce Grove Veterinary Clinic. In her spare time she enjoys the art of origami, hiking in the summer, snowshoeing in the winter, and finding a cozy place to read.

Dr. Pacholok


Dr Terletski started off her career in 2009 after graduating from Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. She has remained a loyal employee at the Spruce Grove Veterinary Clinic since then. Dr Terletski enjoys the everyday challenges that are faced at a busy small animal practice and has developed a particular fondness for soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and radiology. In her spare time spent outside of work, she keeps busy with equine activities.

Dr. Faith Jensen graduated from the University of Calgary's Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program in 2024. Faith has special interests in preventative medicine and internal medicine that she would like to expand upon as a new graduate. She recently welcomed her new dog Ginny into her family. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family in Spruce Grove, traveling, concerts, and reading a good book.
